Lent is the period of 40 days which comes before Easter in the Christian calendar. Beginning on Ash Wednesday, Lent is a season of reflection and preparation before the celebrations of Easter. By observing the 40 days of Lent, Christians replicate Jesus Christ's sacrifice and withdrawal into the desert for 40 days. If we replicate Jesus Christ and we say LENT is FAST, PRAY, GIVE, CARE, then let us have the true and genuine understanding of these deeds and do them just like JESUS did them, i.e. fasting without food (NOT DANIEL'S DIET in Daniel Chapter one as some Christians mis interprete that for a fast). Please read below and back them with the scriptures stated.
2. A time of prayer - praying all kinds of prayer; all the steps of prayer in Matt. 6: 7-15; the Gethsemeny prayers, the casting out demons prayers; the father forgive them for they do not know what they're doing prayers and etc.
3. A time of giving - give to God and do works of charity. Matthew 6:1-6
4. A time of caring - show love; care for people; visit them, bear one another's burden. Matt. 25: 34-40
We are praying with you that God will open the eye of your understanding to know what LENT means to the Christian and to observe it well so you will be blessed.
